T-Mobile has decommissioned wireless spectrum for Sprint’s 3G and LTE networks to accelerate bandwidth growth and accelerate the rollout of its nationwide 5G network.

With 66.7 million subscribers before the merger, T-Mobile now has more than 109 million subscribers as of Q1 2022, making it the second-largest carrier in the US (Verizon has the most subscribers: 143 million in Q1 2022). T-Mobile launches 5G home broadband service in rural America.

Moreover, T-Mobile faces many hurdles and opposition from regulators and critics who oppose the T-Mobile and Sprint merger, arguing that it could harm consumers and threaten jobs and businesses (third-party resellers), among others.
