Another Samsung May 2021 security update comes to Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21

Samsung has already begun to send security patches for the Galaxy S21 series of smartphones in May 2021. Subsequently, Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 devices have also joined the party and provided the latest security updates.

In addition to expanding the firmware, the Korean mobile phone manufacturer has also begun to release new versions for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra flagships in Europe (mainly in Germany). Like previous OTAs, these newer OTAs also include security patches for these two product lines in May 2021.

In addition, Samsung once again reminded Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 series smartphone users that they are improving the camera and fast sharing performance. At the same time, the latest version adds a new Dual Recording camera function to the Galaxy S20 series phones.

However, we now have detailed information about the fixes and revisions of the May 2021 security patch, which were not available at the time of its first launch. Samsung said that this new security patch fixes 3 critical CVEs, 24 high CVEs, and 17 medium CVEs.

After identification, these firmware updates have internal versions: G980FXXU7DUE1, G985FXXU7DUE1, G988BXXU7DUE1, G991BXXU3AUE1, G996BXXU3AUE1, and G998BXXU3AUE1, which are applicable to Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Ultra 5G, Galaxy S21, S21+, respectively.
