Apple’s latest operating system iOS 15 and WatchOS 8 upcoming feature have been delayed until early 2022. Apple had earlier said that this feature would launch in late 2021. According to the Macrumors report, Apple recently announced the delay of a major update for iOS 15 and Apple WatchOS 8 with powerful features that enhance the iPhone experience. Apple previously planned to unveil it in late 2021 but recently it was updated on the Apple website that iPhone and Apple Watch in participating U.S. states have been delayed until early 2022.

In September this year, Apple said Arizona and Georgia would be the first to offer the feature to residents, and Connecticut, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Oklahoma, and Utah would follow suit. Apple said it is in discussions with more US states reportedly including Florida as it commits to rolling out the feature nationwide in the future.
Apple hasn’t provided a specific release date for this feature after early 2022, and the feature isn’t enabled in the latest iOS 15.2 beta. Apple said select TSA security checkpoints in select US airports will be the first places users can present a digital ID in the Wallet app.
The role of this feature:
Users will be able to tap the plus sign at the top of the Wallet app to add a driver’s license or state ID to the app, and then tap their iPhone or Apple Watch on an identity reader to present their ID to the TSA. without taking out their physical card or handing over your device.
Tapping their iPhone or Apple Watch on Identity Reader, users will see a prompt on their device displaying the specific information being requested by the TSA. Issued identification information is sought from a user’s device only after being authorized with Face ID or Touch ID, and they are required to unlock, show or hand over their device to a TSA security officer to present their ID, according to Apple. Apple has highlighted the privacy and security protections of the feature. When adding a driving license or state ID card to the Wallet app, the company said users will need to take a photograph of their face, which will be securely provided to the issuing state for verification. As an additional measure, Apple said that users will be prompted to complete a series of facial and head movements during the setup process.
