Released back in August 2019, Redmi Note 8 series smartphones are still famous and are being loved by people in the markets. Although some Note 8 models have received Android 11 updates worldwide, Xiaomi is yet to release it for the base model in India.
Its been nine months since the tech giant hasn’t provided any update for the device in the country, it was expected to get Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 Enhanced version at the same time. But it seems not the case.

Recently, a famous Xiaomi tipster named xiaomiui has reported that the Android 11 update is ready for Redmi Note 8 and will begin to roll out in the coming days. However, the builds will still be based on MIUI 12, which means MIUI 12.5 and its Enhanced version have been postponed in the region.
Moreover, the tipster further reveals that the Android 11 update will come along with a security patch. But with which month’s security patch hasn’t been notified, probably with the October patch. At the moment, we can only wait for more information or the update to arrive.
